Brief Biography of Partner
The University Medical Centre Mainz (UMC-Mainz) is located in the centre of Mainz, a major city in the metropolitan Rhine-Main Region in Germany. The Centre offers patients a broad spectrum of supramaximal medical care. Furthermore, UMC-Mainz functions as an advanced research centre and a well-established institution of medical education.
Partner’s Role in ONCOSCREEN
UMC-Mainz is one of the clinical sites that will host ONCOSCREEN clinical studies. It took over the role of a scientific coordinator steering the clinical studies in the project. UMC-Mainz will also chair the Medical Clinical Steering Committee, which will be established during the project.
UMC-Mainz’s core efforts will be dedicated to the management and implementation activities of the ONCOSCREEN Phase A clinical observational studies on the selected colorectal cancer target population groups with the support of all hospital sites hosting the trials. It will also provide medical and historical data to be analysed by the technical and medical partners, developing the ONCOSCREEN data bio-bank. In addition, UMC-Mainz will participate in the implementation of the Phase B multisite clinical trials, contributing to the trial design and the respective clinical protocols.
