Brief Biography of Partner
The Bucharest Oncological Institute (IOB) is the biggest cancer institute in Romania. It has a complex and diverse medical activity, ranging from healthcare assistance and medical research in the field of oncology to professional development and training of specialised staff. Encompassing extensive competences of specialists with broad professional knowledge in solving multiple and difficult cases of oncological nature, the institute offers complex tumour treatment methods, combining chemotherapy, hormone therapy, radiotherapy, and surgery.
Partner’s Role in ONCOSCREEN
IOB is a leading ONCOSCREEN partner in the evidence-based research on revealing colorectal cancer prevalence factors, such as inequalities within and between EU countries and regions. IOB is also one of the clinical sites that will host the ONCOSCREEN clinical trials in Bucharest, Romania. The institute will lead the task on the implementation of the clinical trials in Romania and will provide relevant health-economics data, contributing to the development of the ONCOSCREEN living guidelines for colorectal cancer screening programmes.
