Brief Biography of Partner
The medical faculty was founded in 1863 as part of the University of Graz. Since 2004, the Medical University Graz (MUG) is an independent university which includes several internationally renowned medical research centres. The Diagnostic and Research Centre is participating in the ONCOSCREEN project. The centre’s core competences are Human-Artificial Intelligence (AI) Interfaces, Data Quality, Trusted Repositories, Biobanking, Information Design, and AI algorithms for digital pathology. The Medical University of Graz is hosting a biobank, founded in 2007, with over 20 million human samples, such as blood, serum, plasma, and tissues.
Partner’s Role in ONCOSCREEN
The Medical University of Graz will focus on creating the ONCOSCREEN colorectal cancer data biobank to be used during and after the end of the project. It will also contribute to the development of a training platform for pathologists.
