The University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH) with its locations in Kiel and Lübeck is one of the largest medical care centres in Europe. It serves to ensure maximum medical care in the northernmost federal state of Germany and guarantees medical-technical care at the highest level, especially for patients who require highly differentiated diagnostics and therapy. The unique selling point of the University Hospital is the interplay between patient care, research and teaching, so that scientific findings flow directly into the healthcare system. UKSH maintains the entire spectrum of medicine and multidisciplinary centres. It cares for patients with rare diseases, operates university outpatient clinics, and provides emergency care. Partner’s Role in ONCOSCREEN

UKSH will host the ONCOSCREEN clinical studies in Lübeck, Germany. UKSH tasks and activities in the ONCOSCREEN project will be led by the team of Prof. Dr. Jens Marquardt, who is Head of Clinic I for Internal Medicine at UKSH, specialising in molecular hepatological carcinogenesis and working on mechanisms which influence the transition from chronic infection and inflammation to cancer. The UKSH research team will contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the ONCOSCREEN clinical trials. Furthermore, the team will participate in the study on colorectal cancer biomarkers during the project.
